Why is Survival of the Fittest a Game Changer?

Survival of the Fittest is a repeatable one-mana tutor with no limit on activations. Discard a creature, find any creature — which in a deck with reanimation means the discard is a second tutor rather than a cost. Being able to assemble any creature-based combo at instant speed for one mana each time is the kind of engine that makes a deck play the same game every single time it is drawn, and repeatable unconditional tutoring is the strongest version of the effect that dominates this list.

What bracket can I play Survival of the Fittest in?

  • Bracket 1 & 2 — not allowed. A single copy of Survival of the Fittest puts your deck above Core.
  • Bracket 3 (Upgraded) — allowed, and it counts as one of your three permitted Game Changers.
  • Bracket 4 & 5 — no limit, so it costs you nothing here.
