Is Opposition Agent a Game Changer?

Yes. Opposition Agent is on the official Wizards of the Coast Commander Game Changers list. You control opponents' searches — their tutors and fetch lands now work for you.

Why is Opposition Agent a Game Changer?

Opposition Agent has flash and takes control of every opponent's library search. Their tutor finds a card for you and they lose it; their fetch land gets nothing. In a format where nearly every deck searches its library multiple times a game, that is a punishing, uninteractive effect from a three-mana creature that can appear at instant speed. It is one of the cleanest examples of a card that does not make your deck faster but makes everyone else's deck stop working.

What bracket can I play Opposition Agent in?

  • Bracket 1 & 2 — not allowed. A single copy of Opposition Agent puts your deck above Core.
  • Bracket 3 (Upgraded) — allowed, and it counts as one of your three permitted Game Changers.
  • Bracket 4 & 5 — no limit, so it costs you nothing here.
