Why is Gifts Ungiven a Game Changer?

Gifts Ungiven looks fair because an opponent makes the choice, and it is not fair at all. A deck with graveyard recursion builds a pile where every possible split assembles the same result, turning "your opponent chooses" into flavour text. It is a four-card tutor at instant speed that also fills the graveyard, and the skill ceiling on constructing the pile is exactly the kind of thing that separates a tuned deck from a casual one — the sort of gap the bracket system exists to make visible ahead of time.

What bracket can I play Gifts Ungiven in?

  • Bracket 1 & 2 — not allowed. A single copy of Gifts Ungiven puts your deck above Core.
  • Bracket 3 (Upgraded) — allowed, and it counts as one of your three permitted Game Changers.
  • Bracket 4 & 5 — no limit, so it costs you nothing here.
