Why is Ad Nauseam a Game Changer?

Ad Nauseam is the clearest example of a card whose cost is only a real cost in a game you were losing. In a deck built with a low average mana value, five mana converts most of your remaining life total into cards — frequently ten or more of them, at instant speed, on an opponent's end step. Decks that play it are almost never trying to untap and cast those cards fairly; they are looking for a specific set of pieces to end the game that same turn. That is the pattern the Game Changers list exists to flag: not a card that is merely strong, but one that reliably converts a single turn into a win the rest of the table cannot interact with.

What bracket can I play Ad Nauseam in?

  • Bracket 1 & 2 — not allowed. A single copy of Ad Nauseam puts your deck above Core.
  • Bracket 3 (Upgraded) — allowed, and it counts as one of your three permitted Game Changers.
  • Bracket 4 & 5 — no limit, so it costs you nothing here.
