Is Force of Will a Game Changer?
Yes. Force of Will is on the official Wizards of the Coast Commander Game Changers list. Counter any spell for zero mana by exiling a blue card and paying one life.
Why is Force of Will a Game Changer?
Force of Will is the original free counterspell and still the clearest statement of the archetype: any spell, any time, for no mana. Paying a card plus a life is a real cost in a fair game and close to no cost in a game that is about to be lost. It is the card that lets a deck tap out on turn two and still say no to a game-ending spell on turn three, and its presence is a strong signal that a deck expects to be playing at a speed where that matters.
What bracket can I play Force of Will in?
- Bracket 1 & 2 — not allowed. A single copy of Force of Will puts your deck above Core.
- Bracket 3 (Upgraded) — allowed, and it counts as one of your three permitted Game Changers.
- Bracket 4 & 5 — no limit, so it costs you nothing here.
