Once Upon a Time in Eldraine
Wilds of Eldraine revisits Magic's fairy-tale plane, but this time under the shadow of the Wicked Slumber — a magical curse that has put many of Eldraine's inhabitants to sleep and imbued the wilds with wild, untamed magic. The two Commander precons for Wilds of Eldraine focus on the plane's two dominant magical traditions: the role-and-enchantment magic of the Wilds and the scheming, shadow magic of the faerie courts.
Virtue and Valor — The Enchantress's Crusade
Ellivere of the Wild Court commands a Selesnya (white/green) enchantress deck that revolves around role tokens — enchantment auras created by the Wild Court that grant their equipped creatures various boons. Each time you enchant a creature with a role, Ellivere triggers card draw, creating an self-sustaining advantage engine where enchanting your creatures both makes them better and draws you more cards to continue the cycle.
The deck's enchantress elements — multiple cards that draw additional cards when you cast enchantments — create redundancy in the card draw engine. The deck rarely runs out of cards, and its creatures grow increasingly powerful as roles accumulate. Ellivere rewards players who enjoy enchantment-based strategies that generate value through overwhelming card advantage.
Virtue and Valor is one of the most straightforward precons in terms of game plan — enchant your creatures, draw cards, repeat — but its consistency and the power ceiling of a fully assembled enchantress engine make it competitive in any Commander pod.
Fae Dominion — The Court of Secrets
Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor, rules the faerie court with manipulation and the conversion of every faerie's death into card advantage. Fae Dominion is a Dimir (blue/black) faerie tribal deck where Tegwyll's passive trigger draws you a card whenever a nontoken faerie dies. The deck floods the battlefield with faerie tokens, uses them for aggressive flying attacks, and profits from their inevitable removal.
The deck's synergy between faerie tokens and card draw creates a situation where opponents face a dilemma: leave the faeries alive and they'll attack freely, or remove them and feed Tegwyll's card advantage engine. This two-way pressure is characteristic of the best tribal decks and makes Fae Dominion particularly difficult to counter.
Players who enjoy aggressive flying strategies with built-in card advantage will find Fae Dominion immediately appealing. The deck rewards deploying faeries proactively and trusting that their deaths, when they come, will be profitable rather than simply painful.
